USA improve to 6-2 in Group 1 World Grand Prix

 

CUIABA, Brazil, July 21, 2017 – USA claimed a 3-1 (25-14, 16-25, 25-19, 26-24) victory over Belgium to improve to a 6-2 record in the World Grand Prix 2017 campaign.

 

Kaja Grobelna was by far the best scorer of the match, tallying a fantastic 24 points in Belgium’s account but it was not enough to prevail over USA with Madison Kingdon contributing 18 points to their victory trailed by Kelly Murphy who was responsible for 15 markers.

 

In Bangkok, Thailand, Italy continues a winning streak in World Grand Prix, securing a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-15) victory over Dominican Republic. Caterina Bosetti and Miriam Sylla led the team to sixth consecutive victory. 

 

Both players scored 10 points in attack and one block each, becoming best scorers of Italy. Gina Mambru was the strongest point of Dominican Republic with 10 points, all in attack.

 

With two victories for 3 points, Italy secures its position in pool H1.
