USA move closer to Finals in China

JIANGMEN, China, June 13, 2019 – Michelle Bartsch-Hackley and Kelsey Robinson each registered 20 points in leading the United States to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-21) victory over host China to conclude the fourth round of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League on Thursday.

The United States dominated their opponents 58-37 in attacks, 7-3 in blocks and 7-3 in service winners while China committed only 3 errors to 16 by the winners.

Zhu Ting led China with 13 points, followed by Zhang Changning with eight.

The victory was the ninth against three losses (27 points) for the USA while China is also 9-3 with 26 points.

The top five ranked teams at the end of the five-week round robin competition will join China in the Finals of the league.

Turkey (10-2), Italy (9-2), Brazil (9-3), USA (9-3) and Japan (8-3) are the most likely teams traveling to China.
