United States keep mastery in St Lucia

 

PIGEON POINT, St. Lucia, October 16, 2016 – Stafford Slick and Mark Burik kept alive the United States dominance on the sand of Pigeon Point by defeating Canadians Cameron Wheelan and Michael Plantinga in the gold medal match of St Lucia tournament.

 

Slick/Burk won by scores of 18-21, 21-17, 15-13 for the fifth consecutive title for teams from United States in St Lucia.

 

The Americans recovered after losing the first set and an 8-4 deficit in the second set.

 

Ryan Doherty and John Mayer of United States defeated Ryan Vandenburg and Sergey Grabovsky of Canada (23-21, 21-13) in the match for third place.

 

A total of 15 teams took part in the men’s tournament held in the island of the Eastern Caribbean.

 

The season finished with the Trinidad & Tobago tournament from September 23 to 28.
