final series were the ingredients that capped the Women’s
Volleyball Superior League won by Caribeñas on Sunday.

Pavilion in Santo Domingo to watch the outcome of the playoffs
between Caribeñas and Cristo Rey and were surprised to see
Brayelin Martinez playing a key role in the triumph of Caribeñas.
She had not played before but was in uniform every day and
decided to get into service when her team was trailing 14-2 in
the third set of the match and what a role she played. The
slender outside hitter fired 13 points and Caribeñas climbed
back to win the third and fourth sets an claim the title.
“The real winner was Dominican volleyball and the Female Program
of the Federation because people saw the new breed of players
who are under development to secure a good fluid throughout the
pipeline,” said Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, the president of the
program.
“People could see what we have been doing with our young players
and the tournament has been a complete success with the fans
supporting our athletes and the efforts of many people involved
in the female program”, Marte Hoffiz added.
“Next year the tournament can grow bigger and I am sure many
corporations will be interested in sponsoring the event and the
teams in particular,” he said. “This is a very promising event
and we have the fans to support the teams and the players.” |
