TOKIO, Japan – United States started off on the
right foot their participation in the men’s
volleyball tournament of the Olympic Games Tokyo
2020 with a convincing victory over France 3-0
(25-18, 25-18, 25-22) on Saturday.
Matt Anderson and Taylor Sander led USA with 13
and 12 points, respectively, while Torey Defalco
and Mawell Holt contributed 9 and 8 points.
Earvin Ngapeth and Jean Patry were the two best
scorers for France, even though none of them
reached double figures.
The Americans held the advantage in attacks
50-33 and also in blocks 5-2. They gave away 20
points via unforced errors while getting 19 from
the French Team. |
