Young players attend course in Haiti

PETIT GOAVE, Haiti, November 19, 2015 - The Lycée Faustin Soulouque in the city of Petit Goave, 60 kilometers south of Port-au-Prince, welcomed a VCP Young Players Course from Wednesday, November 11 to Sunday, November 15.

The event was the second in a series of four training courses and seminars organized by the FIVB and NORCECA and led by FIVB Instructor André Glaive.

Sixty-one young players including 21 girls and 40 boys between the ages of 13 and 19 participated in the course, which created quite a bit of excitement among the youth of the city.

Petit Goave is known in Haiti as the city of volleyball. It was the third city outside the capital Port-au-Prince to welcome an FIVB training course after Ouanaminthe in the north of the country in November 2013 and Les Cayes in the south in November 2014.

The course was also an opportunity for the federation to identify young talents who may one day be called upon to join the country's youth and junior national teams.

The participants all received certificates at the end of the five-day course.
