Puerto Rico Claims Bronze at the Central
American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 7,
2026.- Puerto Rico claimed the bronze medal in
the women’s volleyball tournament at the 25th
Central American and Caribbean Games Santo
Domingo 2026 after defeating Cuba 3-0 (26-24,
25-23, 25-18). The victory gave Puerto Rico its
third bronze medal in the history of the Central
American and Caribbean Games. The Puerto Ricans
have also won six silver medals for a total of
nine medals in the competition. Puerto Rico
avenged its loss to Cuba in the group stage,
when the Cubans won in straight sets.

Venezuela Advances Directly to Semifinals After Defeating
Guatemala
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, August 6, 2026.- Venezuela advanced
directly to the semifinals of the Boys’ U17 Pan American Cup
after defeating Guatemala 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-20) at the Multi-Sports
Dome in Guatemala City. Venezuela secured its place in the
semifinals and will have a rest day on Friday, August 7, when
the quarterfinals will be played. The United States will face
Guatemala at 4:00 p.m., while Costa Rica will take on Canada at
6:00 p.m. Venezuela remained ahead on the scoreboard throughout
