Dominican Republic Advances Directly to the
Santo Domingo 2026 Semifinals
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 4,
2026. – The Dominican Republic maintained its
perfect record and secured first place in Pool B
of the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games
Santo Domingo 2026 with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-19,
19-25, 25-16) victory over Puerto Rico, earning
a direct berth to the semifinals before a packed
and enthusiastic crowd at the Prof. Ricardo
Gioriver Arias Volleyball Palace. Dominican fans
celebrated from start to finish. The crowd rose
to its feet before the final point, and although
the match extended after the hosts lost serve on
their first match point opportunity, the arena
erupted in celebration when the home team closed
out the victory to finish the pool stage

USA Remains Unbeaten at U17 Pan American Cup with Win over
Puerto Rico
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, August 5, 2026. – The United States
defeated Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-17) to remain
unbeaten at the Boys’ U17 Pan American Cup, being held at the
Multi-Sport Dome in Guatemala City. The United States set the
tone from the opening points with an effective offense and solid
net play to comfortably claim the first set. The second set was
more competitive, with Puerto Rico putting up a stronger
challenge. However, the Americans regained control in the
closing stages through their offense to extend the match lead. A
notable statistic from the set was that both teams committed six
service errors. Puerto Rico opened the third set with several
unforced errors.
