Mexicans Revuelta and Candelas win at Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, California, October 5, 2014 – Mexico’s Bibiana Candelas and Martha Revuelta won their second straight NORCECA Beach Tour event on Sunday, as they defeated USA’s Emily Day and Heather Hughes in the gold medal match, 2-1 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. Candelas and Revuelta have won three NORCECA events this season. Canadians May and Dearing claim gold medal

CHULA VISTA, California, October 5, 2014 – Canada’s Garrett May and Dan Dearing used strong defense to defeat their compatriots Cam Wheelan and Mike Plantinga, 2-1 (20-22, 21-14, 15-11) for the men’s gold medal of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tournament in Chula Vista at the U.S. Olympic Training Center on Sunday It was the first victory for May and Dearing and for a Canadian men’s team. Two Canadian teams to men’s semis in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, California, October 4, 2014 – Two teams from Canada and one each from Puerto Rico and the United States will play in Sunday’s men’s semifinals of the NORCECA Tour stop at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. It is the ninth stop on the 2014 Tour. On Sunday, Canada’s Cam Wheeling and Mike Plantinga will play Puerto Rico’s Roberto Rodriguez and Erik Haddock in one semifinal while Canada’s Garrett May and Daniel Dearing will face the United States’ Avery Drost and Derek Olson in the other. On another hot and dry California day on Saturday, two teams from NORCECA’s most northern.  More  Español

Three USA’ women teams to semis in Chula Vista 

CHULA VISTA, California, October 4, 2014 – Women’s beach teams from the United States won three out of four quarterfinal matches on Saturday at the NORCECA Tour event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. It is the ninth stop on the 2014 NORCECA Tour. Mexico’s Martha Revuelta and Bibiana Candelas will be the lone non-U.S. team in the semifinals. Revuelta and Candelas, who won the last NORCECA Tour event in Boqueron, Puerto Rico, defeated Canada’ Kacie MacTavish and Caleigh Whitaker in the quarterfinals, 21-10, 21-15. USA’s women with fast start in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, California, October 3, 2014 – Teams battled each other and hot conditions on Friday, the first day of pool play at the NORCECA Beach Tour event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. In the women’s bracket, teams from the United States dominated as Lane Carico and Kim DiCello went 2-0 in Pool A. Emily Day and Heather Hughes lead Pool C at 2-0 while Amanda Dowdy and Sarah Day are undefeated at 2-0 in Pool B. On the men’s side, Canada’s team of Daniel Dearing and Garrett May led Pool A at 2-0. Billy Allen and Trevor Crabb of the United States are 2-0 in Pool B. Puerto Rico’s Roberto Rodriguez and Erick Haddock led Pool C at 2-0 while Pool D saw Costa Rica’s Diego Alpizar. More  Español
