FORT LAUDERDALE, United States, July 31, 2016.- Dominican Republic defeated United States 3-1 (25-22, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17) winning the NORCECA Women’s U-20 Continental Championship title and a ticket to the 2017 FIVB age-group World Championship.  Dominicans faced United States with a well-structured game plan. FORT LAUDERDALE, United States, July 31, 2016.- Cuba topped Puerto Rico 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-16) to win the NORCECA Women’s U-20 Bronze medal at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mexico’s serves took care of the actions with 11-0 advantage in the first of two placing matches on Saturday. Puerto Rico stormed past Mexico in the tie-break, nothing like the rest of the match while both teams battled strong keeping the scores always close and sets going back and forth. Cuba sweeps Haiti in opening match

FORT LAUDERDALE, United States, July 26. 2016. - Cuba swept away Haiti in straight sets 25-8, 25-9, 25-14 in opening match of the NORCECA Women’s U-20 Continental Championship at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Cuba’s powerful serves (12-1) were too much for Haiti, who sustained a couple of good rallies with good defense. Cuba also held huge advantage in blocks (7-0) and in spikes (33-15). Outside hitter and captain Diaris Perez topped all scorers with 13 points joined by setter Dalila Palma with 11 points.
