AFECAVOL Senior Men teams for Central American Supremacy
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, November 9, 2018.-
The seven teams that form the Association of Central American
Volleyball Federations AFECAVOL will compete for supremacy at
the twentieth Senior Men´s Central American Championship in San
Salvador from November 8 to 17.
Panama wishes to return to the top spot in AFECAVOL ranking;
they have won a total of eight titles since the creation of the
event in 1974 and haven’t reached the podium since 2012 when
they won the silver medal in Guatemala.
Costa Rica has won the Central American title on six occasions,
followed by the current Champions Guatemala with three titles,
while Honduras has won the tournament two times.
Members of the AFECAVOL control committee met with the
organizing committee on Thursday, making their first inspections
and approving the agenda for the following days, including the
round-robin competition schedule that starts on Saturday
November 10.
