AFECAVOL online meeting

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, April 23, 2020. - The Executive Committee of AFECAVOL held an online meeting to listen to the measures taken by each country in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NORCECA President Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, NORCECA Honorary Vice-President Dr. Carlos Beltrán and NORCECA General Director Arateide Cáceres also took part during the video conference.

Each president of the seven National Volleyball Federations conforming AFECAVOL explained the sanitary and contingency measures of their respective countries, establishing that when the time comes regional events will be rescheduled, keeping a monthly briefing determined by AFECAVOL President Félix Ambrosio Sabio.

Immediate regional events postponed:

• June 10-15 III U-17 and U-19 Central American Beach Volleyball Championships in Costa Rica

• July 10-19 V Women´s U-23 Central American Championship in Honduras

• July 15-20 XIII U-21 Central American Beach Volleyball Championship in Belize

• August 1-6 XX Senior Central American Beach Volleyball Championship in El Salvador

Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz indicated that NORCECA will by modifying its competition calendar as needed, ratifying that the Confederation continues to work with the necessary measures for their staff’s wellbeing.

Another important matter was the creation of a commission to review the constitution of AFECAVOL and another to create a new image of the Association.

Due to the lack of activity, the motion to develop virtual workshops with NORCECA’s support was discussed, for which the topic must be decided in advance.

Each National Federation will solve any doubt or query.
