AFECAVOL opens a two day General Assembly

 

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, December 8, 2019.- The Association of Central American Volleyball Federations opened a two day 2019 General and Elective Assembly in San Jose, Costa Rica.

 

With the assistance of the presidents of the seven National Federations, as well as FIVB First Vice-President and NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, the AFECAVOL General Assembly started stressing the great efforts by each one of its member to assume their competitions during the year.

 

AFECAVOL President Edgar Alvarado Ardon addressed the executive committee welcoming all and exerting them for a productive two day Assembly while deciding what’s best for all the athletes of the Central American region.

 

Along with the AFECAVOL Presidency report, that included seven successful championships, the secretary and treasury reports were revised, as well as that of the website and social media accounts with its statistical analysis.

 

The youth and junior volleyball events were played during 2019 and the annual beach volleyball events (U21 and Senior), discussing the report of each organizing committee as well as each survey that evaluated each tournament to improve AFECAVOL development.

 

The Assembly agreed that the referees must take courses and each Federation may request courses for their national referees to have a continental and international status.

 

Cristobal Marte Hoffiz said while receiving the 2019 AFECAVOL work documents by President Edgar Alvarado “I am satisfied with AFECAVOL responsible hard work that has allowed our Confederation to reach a financial stability to endorse the development of the Central American zone. Due to the leadership in AFECAVOL and all of your support our organizations has transparency”.

 

Some of the decisions taken by the Assembly, the invitation tournaments must be endorsed by each National Federation and AFECAVOL will send an official communication in this matter, also the players of youth and junior categories will play with their respective age and Costa Rica will host the U17 and U19 beach volleyball tournaments for three consecutive years.
