Argentina announces squad to the Pan Am Cup

 

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, June 12, 2017 - After the great performance at the Montreux Volley Masters where they finished in fourth place, Las Panteras of Argentina will travel next Thursday to Peru to play the 2017 Pan American Cup, a warm up event for the 2017 Grand Prix and in another season at this important regional tournament.

 

The competition will start on Saturday, June 17 and will run until 25. Argentina will be part of Zone A along with Puerto Rico, Colombia, United States, Venezuela and Mexico. In the other group will play Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Canada, Peru, Cuba and Chile.

 

The first two of each zone will qualify directly to the semifinals, while the second and third will face in the quarterfinals for the remaining two places.

 

Argentina will go with a list that will have the base of the squad that traveled to Switzerland. The only two modifications are the inclusion of Camila Hiruela and Sofia Bulgarella, who occupy the places of Antonela Fortuna and Priscila Bosio.

 

The team consists of Tanya Acosta, Yamila Nizetich, Lucía Fresco, Elina Rodríguez, Natalia Aispurúa, Sol Píccolo, Clarisa Sagardía, Emilce Sosa, Tatiana Rizzo, Sofía Bulgarella, Florencia Giorgi, Helena Vidal, Morena Martínez and Camila Hiruela.

 

The head coach is Guillermo Orduna assisted by Fabián Muraco. Gonzalo Echegaray is the therapist, Agustin Briscioli, is the statistician and Diego Biscioni the team manager.
