Argentina gets easy victory over TTO

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 4, 2016 – Argentina defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-18) in a Pool B match at Club San Carlos.

 

The Argentinean attack was led by the captain Yamila Nizetich with 14 points, all via spikes; Tanya Acosta added 9, seven spikes and two blocks. For Trinidad & Tobago the top scorer was Krystle Esdelle with 10 points, 9 via attacks, and Channon Thompson with 7.

 

Argentina’s coach Guillermo Orduna said to be satisfied for the performance by his players and for attaining the goal of the expected victory, with the only uncertainty how easy was going to be achieved.

 

Yamile Nizetich, the captain of Argentina said to be glad for the victory as the only task was to elevate the level of the attack, especially after the tough match against Peru. At the same time she was happy to see some of her teammates playing for the first time in a match of the senior team.

 

Meanwhile, Francisco Cruz, coach of Trinidad & Tobago said his team made a big effort to stay in the competition and also he was able to use his injured middle blocker to evaluate her ahead of the match against Costa Rica.

 

The captain of Trinidad & Tobago Renele Forde said to be satisfied for the match, admitting that the Argentinean team is superior by far. She also said that with the short time of preparation, all the matches against strong opponents are seen as preparation for the important match, the last of the preliminary round, against Costa Rica.
