Canada scores 16 blocks in victory over Trinidad and Tobago

LIMA, Peru, June 18, 2017 – Canada swept Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-19) in Pool B of the XVI Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup by Movistar at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum in Lima on Sunday afternoon.

The victory evened Canada’s win-loss record at 1-1 (6 points) while Trinidad & Tobago dropped to 0-2 (zero points).

The Canadians outscored their opponents 16-7 in blocks and 7-3 in aces while committing 15 unforced errors to 29 by the Trinidadians.

Jennifer Cross had 11 points, including seven blocks, while Kyla Richey and Lucille Charuk added 10 and 9 points, respectively, in the victory with Charuk accredited with five blocks.

Sinead Jack and Krystle Esdelle each had 9 points for Trinidad & Tobago.
