Cardona and Juarez lead Guatemala’s comeback

 

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 4, 2016 - Kimberly Cardona and Maria Juarez led the resurging of Guatemala to beat Barbados in the closing day of Pool phase.

 

 The Guatemalan dominated Barbados by scores of 16-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-18.

 

Cardona and Juarez totalized 16 and 12 points, respectively, in the victory of the Central American squad.

 

"It was a good game. We had studied Barbados and knew they could do what they presented. Now just wait to know who will be the rival in the quarterfinals," explained Edgar Callejas, the Guatemala coach.

 

Barbados coach, Shennel Pooler said:  "The girls could not close the second and third set. We believe that there was the game."
