Casebeer and Schalk triumph in Hato Mayor

HATO MAYOR, Dominican Republic, November 3, 2019 – Jeremy Casebeer and Chaim Schalk of United States took home the men’s gold medal of the Hato Mayor Beach Volleyball Tournament at Rancho Doña Callita, the ninth stop of the 2019 NORCECA Circuit.

The American duo dominated Canadians Jake MacNeil and Simon Fecteau-Boutin 2-0 (21-15, 21-18) to claim the title.

It was the third gold medal for Schalk and the first for Casebeer in the history of the NORCECA Circuit. He had won before in 2012 and 2014 in Chula Vista and Trinidad & Tobago, respectively, with Benjamin Saxton representing Canada.

In the semifinals, Casebeer/Schalk defeated compatriots Tim Brewster and Jonathan Ferrari 2-0 (21-17, 21-19) while Fecteau-Boutin/MacNeil beat Nicaraguans Ruben Mora and Dany López 2-0 (21-17, 21-10).
