Chevrolet Beach Volleyball Centre, site of the
Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games

 

   

TORONTO, Canada, July 11, 2015. - The Chevrolet Beach Volleyball Centre located at the Pan American CIBC Park will be the official site for the Beach Volleyball tournament of the Toronto 2015 XVIII Pan American Games, running thru Julio 13-21.

Mr. Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, 1st FIVB Vice President, President of the Pan American Volleyball Union and the NORCECA Confederation, presided a technical meeting with members of the control committee and of the organizing committee of the Games, as part of the venue inspection.

The meeting included the presentation of the international officials in charge of the competition; Nelson Ramirez as FIVB Delegate, Glenn Quinlan, NORCECA Delegate, Marco Tullio Teixeira, South American Confederation Delegate, Arnaldo Sanchez, Competition Director and Edward Drakich Local Technical Director.

“As first matter, I want to recognize Mr. Drakich efforts, for the past two years he has been in command of planning and executing this magnificent sports venue; his contribution and hard work are highly appreciated” said Marte Hoffiz, while indicating that the venue has all the international requirements for the competition.

An inspection around the Chevrolet Beach Volleyball Centre was also part of the meeting. The venue has a stadium with an official court, four warm-up courts, a press office, a mixed zone, medical facilities, athlete’s zone and administrative offices.

Edward Drakich presented a report and said “Canada is pleased to host the most important event in America. We have been preparing with anticipation to satisfy your needs and I guarantee my team has done their best efforts for the smooth development of the event”.
