SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, September 5, 2022 – Cuba defeated Canada in consecutive sets this Monday 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-21) to equal their record to a win and a setback after having lost against the Dominican Republic on opening Sunday.

The winners had an advantage in blocks (8-4) and in aces (7-3) in the game that lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes.

Gretell Moreno, Captain of Cuba: We knew how to recover from a strong defeat against the Dominican Republic in the first game, we came out with a better attitude on the field and little by little our game flowed, but we have to continue preparing ourselves and continue to iron out those little details that we have to fix in order to reach the level that we we want and return to the world elite.

Melissa Langegger, captain of Canada: I think we had a lot of good fight, we battled every point and we did not win today but here we are as a team here we are as Canada. I think we played better today than yesterday.
