HAVANA, Cuba, March 13, 2021 - Cubans Regla
Gracia and Claudia Hernández made a successful
debut in the Superior National Volleyball League
(LNSV) of Peru with their team Deportivo Jaamsa,
which defeated Rebaza Acosta 3-0 on the second
day of the competition.
In the duel, which ended with scores of 25-17,
25-22 and 25-17, the opposite left-hander Gracia
was the top scorer with 16 points, 14 of them in
attack for an effectiveness of 50%, and two
aces, according to the official site of the
Peruvian Volleyball Federation (FPV).
On her side, the corner player Hernandez scored
8 points, including a direct service and a
block, although her effectiveness in her actions
only reached 24% in her debut with Jaamsa. In
his previous season 2019-2020 Hernández played
with Alianza Lima.
"I hope in the clash on Saturday to be looser,
today I was self-conscious, but I felt good,"
said the young Claudia, who as Regla appears in
second place among the best of her position
With this first success, the Jaamsa, coached by
Cuban Juan Carlos Gala, settled at the top with
three points along with the Circolo Sportivo
Italiano and Regatas Lima teams, which came out
winners at the opening of the LNSV (on
Wednesday).
Precisely to the latter, the Cuban setter
Gretell Moreno returns for the second time. She
is currently going through the quarantine period
as a foreign traveler.
Regatas Lima, one of the teams considered among
the favorites to advance to the next phase, beat
Molivoleibol 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-23) at the
Villa El Salvador Sports Center, the only venue
for the championship due to the situation of
COVID-19 in Lima.
Matches scheduled for Saturday the 13th and
Monday the 15th complete the first section of
the tournament that includes also the champion
of the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons,
Universidad San Martín de Porres as well as
Latino Amisa, Alianza Lima, Deportivo Alianza
and Geminis. |
