MEXICO CITY, Mexico, August 24, 2013 - Elvis Contreras scored 30 points in the victory of Dominican Republic over Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) at VIII Men’s Pan American Volleyball Cup.

Contreras also registered 3 aces for the Dominican Team that finished in sixth place, while Simon Blake concluded with 11 points for the Trinidadian squad, that concluded seventh.

“Congratulations to Dominican Republic. I saw a very high level tournament and this is good for the future of Norceca and the Pan American region. I liked the atmosphere here in Mexico and definitively will be back”, said Gideon Dickson, coach of Trinidad and Tobago.

“Mexico is lovely this is my second time here I like the way people supported Volleyball”, stated Trinidadian captain Nolan Tash.

“We couldn’t achieve the expectation of repeating with a medal, we struggled on defense and we tried to give more game to Elvis Contreras in this match,” said coach Osiel Vazquez of Dominican Republic.

“It was easy but could not accomplish our goal like last year in Santo Domingo, now we will prepare for the Norceca Continental championship and we have three weeks for that”, said José Caceres, captain Jose Caceres.
