Dominican Republic repeats as NORCECA U-18 champions

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 7, 2016 - Dominican Republic achieved its second consecutive U-18 continental title by defeating the United States in dramatic fashion.

The Dominicans rallied from a 0-2 deficit to beat the United States in five sets by scores of 18-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-13.

"I am thrilled to achieve this second consecutive title. It was great match and we managed to recover to achieve victory" said Alexandre Ceccato, coach of Dominican Republic.

Natalie Martinez was the best scorer with 29 points and Madeline Guillen contributed 22.
