suffering a painful five-set loss to Japan, the
Dominican Republic team returned on Saturday
with their strongest performance in the FIVB
Volleyball Women's Nations League.
The Caribbean Queens crushed Serbia 3-0 (25-14,
25-20, 25-18) with a balanced offense and very
few errors.
Playing without Bethania de la Cruz and Brayelin
Martínez, their two main attacking weapons,
Gaila González, Yonkaira Peña and Prisilla
Rivera each scored 12 points to lead the eighth
Dominican victory. Jneiry Martínez contributed
10.
The winners led in attacks 45-34 and in serves
4-0 while making 11 errors against 21 of the
losers.
The Dominican Republic team concludes its
participation in the 2021 Nations League by
playing against Germany in the first game this
Sunday. |
