Enright looks forward to next season with Volley Bergamo

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, July 15, 2020 – Stephanie Enright, or “Fefa” as she is known in Puerto Rico, was recently announced as a new recruit by Italian league club Volley Bergamo where she will play the 2020-21 season alongside fellow Puerto Rican, setter Natalia Valentin.

Enright has played for clubs in Japan, Turkey and Azerbaijan and says she is looking forward to returning to Italy for her sixth consecutive season abroad, after also playing for Italian clubs including Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Chieri '76 Volleyball.

“The chance of returning to Italy makes me happy,” Stephanie said. “I love Italy as their volleyball is of top level. I hope everything goes well with Natalia so we can represent the colours of Puerto Rico well. Bergamo has a long tradition as a former champion of Italy and Europe.”

Enright has also kept herself busy in recent months, and has started a small business in San Juan.

“I am totally in love with the location, the idea and the concept,” Enright said about Takería, the restaurant she opened in Condado in partnership with Mexican Alejandra Lavalle, an area of the city which is popular with tourists. “We have a lot of really delicious authentic Mexican dishes on our menu.”

“It all started when I was looking a job for my brother and we met Alejandra,” Stephanie recalled. “I already had plans to open a business and reinvent myself out of volleyball so when we went to see the place I jumped to the idea at first sight.”

“Takeria has been a light in the midst of misfortune,” she said. “It is like a volleyball perfectly set above the net, ready for me to hit it down.”
