LAUSANNE, February 10, 2022 - The FIVB President
met today with Michel Everaert an FIVB Board of
Administration member and Secretary General of
the Dutch Volleyball Federation (Nevobo), and
former Nevobo Technical Director Joop Alberda, a
renowned volleyball coach who led the
Netherlands men’s national volleyball team to
Olympic gold at Atlanta 1996, to discuss the
preparations for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s
World Championship and FIVB World Congress.
The 38th FIVB World Congress will be held on
22-25 September 2022, during which the FIVB
Volleyball Women’s World Championship, set to be
held from 23 September to 15 October in the
Netherlands and Poland, will get underway with
the Netherlands hosing the opening round in
Arnhem. This will therefore provide delegates
with a unique opportunity to watch the opening
matches of the flagship event live with 24 of
the best women’s national volleyball teams in
the world striving for ultimate glory.
Following the meeting, FIVB President Dr Ary S.
Graça Fᵒ said:
“It was a pleasure to meet both Michel Everaert
and Joop Alberda to discuss the preparations for
our key events. The Netherlands is renowned for
its hosting credentials having previously hosted
a number of key volleyball events, including the
Olympic Qualification Tournament and the
Volleyball Nations League pools. Today, we were
able to talk about some innovative ideas that we
can implement at upcoming events for the benefit
of our athletes and fans.” |
