GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, March 10, 2016. - Members of the
control committee and of Guatemala’s National Federation held a
joint meeting on Wednesday to check on the final details in
preparation of the 2016 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour season
opener at Ciudad Cayala in Guatemala City from March 11-13.
Marta Centeno Sajche, NORCECA Vice-President and competition
supervisor, chaired the meeting; joined by Eduard Drakich,
President of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Commission and
Virginia Boesche Giron, President of the National Federation,
who established a check list to discuss.
A schedule was approved according to team’s arrival and the
organizing committee time table.
On Thursday morning the delegates will visit the competition
site for an inspection, followed by a press conference, while
referee manager Jose Ramon Perez Vento will conduct a practice
clinic. The day will conclude with back to back preliminary
inquiry and general technical meeting, starting at 5:00 pm.
The representatives determined to begin the competition at 8:00
am on Friday and Saturday, on Sunday matches will start 9:00 am.
Among other topics discussed were local referees, sport
equipment, hydration, medical and physiotherapist services, as
well as transportation and meals.
Eduard Drakich explained the importance to guarantee a planned
competition “as long as the rules are followed and players feel
comfortable, the competition will develop in a better mood; we
have a full registration and we we’ll be playing all day long
for three days”.
While Marta Centeno Sajche praised the National Federation’s
efforts by saying “it’s not an easy task, a lot of hours of hard
work have been put into the organization and each one of us must
contribute to make this a successful competition; I am sure we
will fulfill our duties responsibly and we will definitely
finish satisfied”. |
