Governor of Baja California Sur inaugurates

Norceca Beach Volleyball Stop

 

   

LA PAZ, Mexico, April 8, 2016 - The Governor of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza Davis officially inaugurated the Norceca Beach Volleyball Circuit Stop that began on Friday at the Kiosk Harborside Beach.

 

The celebration included a competitors parade as well as a Military Flag Honors ceremony that was broadcast live on local TV.

Along with Governor Mendoza, the Mayor of La Paz, Armando Martinez Vega was also present as well as some other authorities like the Baja California Sur Sports Institute Director, José Ávila Geraldo, the Norceca Supervisor and Control Committee Delegate, Mayra Huerta, and Mexican Volleyball Federation President, Jesus Perales Navarro.

 

“This is a great stop that is part of the Olympic dream, thank you for making it possible,” said Huerta in her message on behalf of Norceca President and FIVB First Executive Vice President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz.

 

A marathonic first day of activities took part in La Paz with more than 30 matches in both men’s and women’s competition. “We look forward to Project our region not only as a touristic destination, but also as a great place to host sport events,” said Governor Mendoza.

 

A total of 14 countries took part at the parade  before continuing with the game program. Fans enjoyed a different atmosphere in two competition courts with non-stop action in day and night sessions.
