Guatemala debuts with easy victory over El Salvador

PANAMA CITY, Panama, July 26, 2016 – Guatemala cruised past El Salvador to a straight-set 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-18) in its first outing at the U23 Men’s Central American Volleyball Championship taking place at José “Beto” Remón Gymnasium of Panama.

The offense of Guatemala was spearheaded by its three strongest attackers as Carlos Lopez and Erik Flores registered 14 points each, while Leonel Aragón and Wagner Chacón added 12 and 10 points, respectively. The winners benefited by 30 points on opponents’ errors.

The captain of El Salvador, Mauricio Rivas, was again their top scorer with only 8 points.
