BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, December 13, 2015 - Haiti silenced the
home crowd to capture their first CAZOVA junior title as the
10th edition climaxed in the Wildey Gym, Bridgetown
It was a case of a repeated nightmare as Barbados were pounded
by Haiti 25-15, 25-8, 25-19.
Barbados had suffered a similar loss back in 1997 when the
inaugural tournament was held at the same venue by bowing to
Trinidad & Tobago.
Last night Barbados had no counter for the power of Solaida
Pierre who scored 15 points and Jackie Graziella Cherry who
added 12 with only the high jumping Shonte Seale with nine
points and Aliyyah Durant with seven tried to out up some fight
for the Bajans.
Barbados had also lost 3-1 to Haiti in the preliminaries for the
French team to play unbeaten throughout the tournament.
