Level III Coaches Course begins in Santo Domingo

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 3, 2016 – The NORCECA/FIVB Regional Volleyball Development Center in Dominican Republic started on Sunday a Level III Coaches Course under the direction of Jivko Jetchev of Bulgaria.

 

Mr. Jetchev, who is currently the president of the FIVB Coaches Commission, will be assisted by FIVB Instructor Peter Nonnenbroich of Germany.

 

Both Jetchev and Nonnenbroich have long coaching experience and are well known around the volleyball international community.

 

The opening ceremony of the course was attended by Luis Mejia Oviedo, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of NORCECA and FIVB 1st Executive Vice President, Ramon Garcia, president of the Dominican Volleyball Federation, and Amos Anglada, member of the executive committee of FEDOVOLI.

 

Marte Hoffiz stated that this is the course of highest level in FIVB and praised the work done by the Development Center as well as the support from FIVB President Dr. Ary Graca. He promised to make all the efforts within his reach to bring another Level III Course in 2018.

Jetchev said to be pleased with the good organization and preparation of the course by the Development Center.

 

The eight-day course will consist of practical and theoretical sessions at the Volleyball Pavilion in Santo Domingo and the new facilities opened at the Olympic Village. The course is sponsored by the Dominican Republic Sport Ministry, the DR Olympic Committee, NORCECA Confederation and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
