Mexico makes history as the host of the FIVB Congress

CANCUN, Mexico, November 13, 2018 - Mexico continues to make history in recent years in Volleyball and this time it will also be in the administrative area, since after 44 years the FIVB International Congress will be held again in Aztecs lands.

Mr. Jesús Perales Navarro, President of the FMVB received on Monday Dr. Ary S. Graca, President of the FIVB who will lead this great event, showing himself happy to come to one of the most developed countries in Volleyball in recent years.

This coming 15 and 16 November will be carried out technical reports on each of the events organized by the FIVB (International Volleyball Federation), as well as proposals and projects for a better development of our sport globally will be presented.

The FIVB Congress had already been presented twice in Mexico, the first was for reasons of the Olympic Games of 68 'and the second was for the World Championships in 1974.

This is the first time that the proper steps have been taken by the Mexican Federation so that the FIVB International Congress takes place in Mexico without the need to have a sporting event. This is why, said Mr. Jesús Perales, Mexico is once again placed in the international stage both in sports and administrative matters, and that can be taken into account for more and better projects.

Cancun, Quintana Roo will host the 221 National Federations and all the administrative personnel that rule the highest authority of Volleyball in the world, which will meet to see topics such as the World Championships, the Volleyball Nations League and Olympic Games, among other events of great international impact.

Thanks to the Tourist Promotion Council and the Government of the State of Quintana Roo, who did great work and working together with the FMVB, they managed to obtain the rights to host such an important event that was also intended by Germany and Italy. Demonstrating Quintana Roo State to be excellent hosts, since just a couple of weeks ago there was a stop of the Beach Volleyball World Tour where some of the best couples in the world participated, hundreds of people coming to the stadium with a spectacular atmosphere and where correspondents of the FIVB presented an impeccable report worthy of admiration for the local organization.

Without a doubt a great success and unbeatable opportunity for the Mexican Volleyball Federation to establish itself as one of the countries with the most development in Volleyball in recent years.
