“We tried to play with more intensity, but Mexico was very consistent with their service, congratulations to Mexican coach for his first victory with the senior team,” said Trinidadian coach Gideon Dickson.

“It is good to start with a victory for us, we are working with a new generation of players and we are happy for that, but now we have to prepare for our next match,” Mexico’s coach Sergio Hernandez stated.

For Jorge Quiñones, the fans support was very important: “We feel great for winning and also because the people enjoyed it, and we started with the right foot.”
