Natalia Martinez named MVP of NORCECA Girls’ U18


SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, June 29, 2014 - Natalia Martinez, outside hitter of the Dominican Republic was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Girls’ U-18 NORCECA Continental Championship as her team won their first title ever at Gimnasio Nacional of San Jose, Costa Rica.


The awarding ceremony was presided over by Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA and Jose Luis Jimenez Lao General Secretary of NORCECA. Ms. Alia Sarkis, the first president of the National Federation of Costa Rica, also attended as special guest.


Dominican Natalia Martinez was joined by her teammate Vielka Peralta as the Best Spiker.


From Puerto Rico, Captain Alejandra Negron received the awards as Best Scorer and Best Reciever.


USA’s Milan Stokes was selected the Best Server and Lauren Speckman got the recognition as the Best Setter


The Best Libero and Best Digger awards went to Valeria Monge of Costa Rica while teammate Mariana Rodriguez was the Best Blocker.
