National Level II Coaches Course in Santo Domingo

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 13, 2017 – The Dominican Volleyball Federation in collaboration with the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic organized a Level II National Coaches Course from March 9 to 12 with 70 participants hailing from different provinces of the country.

 

The course covered more than 30 hours of practical and theoretical sessions and it forms part of the program of activities of the local federation and is supported by the Ministry of Sports and NORCECA Volleyball Confederation.

 

The course is under the direction of Cuban Ariel Sainz with the assistance of Dominican Wilson Sanchez, Brazilian Marcos Macedo, Cuban Carlos Moreno and Dr. Julio Miñoso of Cuba who participated in the medical part of the training course.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by Luis Mejia Oviedo, president of the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of NORCECA Confederation, Ramon A. Garccia president of the Dominican Federation and Jose Luis Suero of the Ministry of Sports.

 

Meja Oviedo congratulated Professor Nelson Ramirez, the director of the Development Center, for the consistency of the institution in creating platforms to spread the seed of volleyball within its area of influence.

 

Marte Hoffiz said NORCECA and FIVB are always willing to assist the federation and the Development Center in all its national and international activities and he praised the role played by the Development Center in Dominican Republic considered as one of the best in the world.

 

Garcia encouraged the participants to continue with their hard work in favor of volleyball as the discipline keeps as one with the fastest growth in the world.
