LA PAZ, Baja California Sur, June 7, 2022 – A
new record for the highest scoring match was the
result of the traditional duel between Puerto
Rico and Dominican Republic to start the U21
Women’s Junior Pan American Cup at Arena La Paz
on Tuesday.
The five-set battle won by Puerto Rico 3-2
(25-23, 27-29, 25-22, 24-26, 16-14) totaled 231
points erasing the previous mark of 216 set on
May 14, 2019 when Puerto Rico defeated Chile 3-2
(26-24, 19-25, 27-25, 17-25, 15-13).
