Nicholas Hoag is the MVP of the Continental Championship

 

   

CORDOBA, Mexico, October 10, 2015 - Nicholas Hoag of Canada was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the Norceca Men’s Continental Championship.

Hoag was also recognized as Best Server of the competition that finished on Saturday after his team beat Cuba 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 25-17) in the finals.

“It feels amazing, I owe it everything to my team. I think they did a tremendous job helping me at change position in the middle of the tournament. So it was really hard for me. They helped me. I think my team is the MVP of this tournament. I’m glad we won it all together,” said Hoag.

The Best Scorer Award was given to Richard Smith Hall of Costa Rica, while the Best First Outside Hitter was won by John Gordon Perrin of Canada and the Second Best Outside Hitter was awarded by Mexico’s Jorge Barajas.

Luis Tomas Sosa of Cuba was the First Best Middleblocker while Daniel Jansen Vandoorn of Canada was the Second Best Middleblocker. The Best Digger was Puerto Rican Dennis del Valle, who also received the honors as Best Libero.

The Best Receiver of the Competition was Yonder Garcia of Cuba, while Cuban captain Rolando Cepeda was recognized as Best Opposite and Pedro Rangel of Mexico was the Best Setter.
