Referees, Scorers and Line Judges Course in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 3, 2017 – The Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation in collaboration with NORCECA Confederation is hosting a Level II National Course for Referees, Scorers and Line Judges.

The course runs until Sunday and is under the direction of former international referee Salvador Montes de Oca assisted by Bienvenido Mateo, VIS and statistics supervisor, as well as international referees Julio Martinez and Juan Ruiz.

The course is taking place at the facilities of the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic, under the direction of Professor Nelson Ramirez.

Ramon A. Garcia, president of the Dominican Federation, said the 40 participants in the course are those who got the higher notes in the two previous courses.

Luis Mejia Oviedo, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of NORCECA, and Luciano Ramirez in representation of the Ministry of Sports, attended the opening ceremony.

The course will conclude on Sunday afternoon with the presentation of certificates.
