Ruddins score 43 points in a single match in Puerto Rico
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, March 10, 2020 – American Lindsey Ruddins
of Pinkin of Corozal became the seventh player ever to reach or
surpass the 40-‘point plateau in a single match in the history
of the Puerto Rican Women’s Volleyball Superior League.
Ruddins scored 43 points in the victory of Corozal over Llaneras
of Toa Baja joining four other players with that kind of output.
The Laguna Niguel, California native Ruddins fell short by six
points of the league’s record of 49 set by fellow American Nancy
Metcalf, one of the four players with 43 and the only with two
matches of more than 40 points.
The all-time kills leader in the history of the University of
California in Santa Barbara, Ruddins joined Metcalf and
compatriots Destinee Hooker and Becky Perry and Venezuelan
Graciela Marquez in the second best group.
The other two players in the 40-point club are American Ariel
Usher (41) and Mexican Andrea Rangel (40). |
