RIMINI, Italy, June 10, 2021 – Russia defeated
Canada 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23) in a
men’s match of the FIVB Nations League that
lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes on Thursday.
En route to the victory, the Russians
established a wide difference in attacks (51-44)
and blocks (15-5). The Canadians led in serves
(7-6) and made 26 unforced errors to 28 by the
winners.
Four Russian players reached double digits in
the scoring sheets led by Maxim Mikhaylov with
22 points followed by Dmitry Volkov with 18.
Artem Volvich and Ilia Vlasov chipped in with 13
and 10, respectively.
Sharone Vernon-Evans led Canada with 15 points
and next was Nicholas Hoag with 13. Arthur
Szwarc and Eric Loeppky added 11 and 10 in the
losing effort. |
