Seven teams to compete at NORCECA Men’s Qualifier

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 6, 2021 – Teams representing Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Suriname and host Dominican Republic will participate in the NORCECA U23 Volleyball Men’s Qualifier to the inaugural Junior Pan American Games to be held in Cali, Colombia from November 25 to December 5.

 

The competition will be disputed at Palacio del Voleibol Ricardo Arias of Santo Domingo from July 12-16 with the top four ranked teams earning tickets to the continental multi-sport event.

 

Hosts Dominican Republic will play in Pool A alongside Guatemala and Panama, while Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Suriname will compete in Pool B.

 

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals and automatically will receive the tickets to Cali.

 

The teams are scheduled to arrive in Santo Domingo on Saturday 10 and will go through the preliminary inquiry by the control committee on Sunday with the competition starting on Monday. The semifinals are scheduled on Thursday and the medal matches on Friday 16.
