Sitting Volleyball Course for Coaches, Referees and Classifiers in Costa Rica

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, February 1, 2017 – A simultaneous World ParaVolley Level I Sitting Volleyball Course for Coaches, Referees and Classifiers will take place in San Jose Costa Rica from February 23 to 26.

The course will under the supervision of John Neilson, Development Director of ParaVolley Pan Am in collaboration with the Costa Rican Volleyball Federation represented by organizer Carlomagno Saenz. The deadline to register in one of the courses is February 7.

World ParaVolley and ParaVolley Pan America are the institutions that have made possible the organization of the important course.

The Coaches Course includes, among other topics, basic rules and regulations, who can play? training principles and techniques, history and development of the game, structure and introduction to classification.

The Referee Course includes: Role and Code of Conduct, volleyball for athletes with physical impairment, match and event preparation, rules of the game, interpretation, terminology, hand signals, practice and evaluation, explanation of the score-sheet.

The Classifier Course includes: Introduction to classification, purpose of classification, key components, criteria for type of impairment, classifier training, practical and theory exam and overview of ParaVolley Classification process.

The clinics are planned for a maximum of 15 candidates per course and those interested must apply trough the National Federations by contacting Carlomagno Saenz (carlo1566@yahoo.com) or John Neilson (johnneilson109@gmail.com).
