St Lucia minister of Sports praises efforts by Louisy

 

   

PIGEON POINT, St Lucia, October 16, 2015 – The St Lucia’s minister for Youth and Sports Shawn Edward praised the continuous efforts made by the St Lucia Volleyball Association and its president Brian Louisy for keeping alive the practice of volleyball in the Eastern Caribbean country.

 

Edward pronounced his encouraging words during the opening ceremony of the St Lucia Beach Volleyball Tournament, the sixth stop of the 2015 NORCECA Circuit.

 

The minister of Youth and Sports welcomed the participants in the event and wished them good fortunes during the weekend and a pleasant stay while in his country.

 

Roosevelt Comarazamy, in representation of NORCECA, expressed the satisfaction for the progress of beach volleyball players of Saint Lucia in both genders and commended the organization of the event and the quality of the competitors.

 

Comarazamy said the St Lucia Beach Volleyball Tournament “is here to stay” and lauded the local authorities and private corporations for their support.

 

Finally Louisy thanked the sponsors whose support he considered invaluable and took time to express his personal gratitude to NORCECA Confederation for the wise advice and financial and moral support.

 

He also thanked the many volunteers whose dedication has been a factor for the organization of this event in St Lucia.

 

Ms Maria Fowell, senior manager of Marketing and Communications of Eastern Caribbean Financial Holding ECFH, and Ms Sharlene Jn Baptiste, brand manager of Climax, accompanied Louisy and Edwards at the VIP tent during the ceremony.
