St. Martin burns St. Kitts and Nevis

MARIGOT, St. Martin, October 29, 2016 - The St. Martin Phoenix torched the Sugar City ladies of St. Kitts with a score line of 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19. Host St. Martin attacked from all areas of the court putting their counter parts on the defensive.  Middle blocker Jacqueline Hodge tore a gaping hole in the Sugar ladies defense.   Her efforts resulted in some twenty two points and fourteen blocks

Team St. Kitts and Nevis seemed to have corrected their poor start in the second set.  However, that momentum was quickly snuffed out. Shanicia Dyer tried hard to rally her team unfortunately it was in sufficient to retard the heat of the “Phoenix”.  She scored a total of eleven points and eleven blocks.

While both teams acknowledged deep respect for each other, Captain Damaseau and Coach Legras of St. Martin the team executed well as they played complete volleyball.  It was important to secure maximum points as the next opponents are not afraid of playing all out.       

Captain Henry of St. Kitts and Nevis felt her team needed to communicate more and relax and have fun while playing. Coach Collins concurred with her but indicated today’s game was about finding the best rotation for Sunday’s finals.
