Tavares FL to host the NORCECA BVB Tour for the first time

 

   

TAVARES, Florida, USA, September 10, 2015. - Hickory Point Beach Volleyball Complex in Tavares, Florida will host the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour for the first time since the event was created in 2006, running from September 11-13.

 

The tournament is the fifth stop of the 2015 Continental Tour, the only stop in the United States this year, featuring 16 duos in the women’s division and 15 in the men’s field, who will compete in round-robin pools with the top two qualifying to the main draw.

 

The countries represented are Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, US Virgin Islands, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago and hosts United States. 

 

Court inspections and preliminary inquiry took place on Thursday, under the supervision of NORCECA delegate Bertha Cuadra and competition director Arnaldo Sanchez, as well as Steve Bishop, Tournament Host President.

 

The tournament’s general technical meeting was held at the official hotel Mission Inn Resort & Club, with the attendance of the Mayor of Tavares Mr. Kirby Smith, Lake County Commissioner Mr. Welton Cadwell, Coordinator of USA Beach Volleyball National Teams Mr. Aaron Wheeler, other local officials, members of the control committee and the organizing committee.

The competition kicks off at 9:00am (local time) on Friday with the preliminary pool-play round:
