Top seeded without problems in opening day at St Lucia

PIGEON POINT, St Lucia, October 14, 2016 – The Olympian duo of Karen Cope and Natalia Alfaro of Costa Rica got two victories on day one at the St Lucia Beach Volleyball Tournament, the 10^th stage of the 2016 NORCECA Circuit.

The Costa Ricans dominated Paul/Billy of Grenada (21-5, 21-4) and then defeated Guatemala’s Girón/Bethancourt (21-16, 21-11).

On the other hand, the second-seeded team of Emily Day/Irene Hestes of United States also claimed two victories in a row by defeating compatriots Ledoux/Stockman in three sets (25-23, 19-21, 15-8) and then breezing past Fanny/Caro of Guadeloupe (21-10, 21-7).
