Mexico and Cuba shine like gold

MANZANILLO, Mexico, October 3, 2010 – Mexican pair of Aldo Miramontes and Juan Virgen in men’s and Cubans Nirian Sinal and Kirenia Ballard in women’s both are champions of the NORCECA Maeva Beach Volleyball Tournament for second consecutive year. Mexicans top ranked players, Miramontes and Virgen, had an impressive victory over Canada 1 (Josh Binstock-Andrew Hinchey), in a pair of sets, 21-13 y 21-14, in the men’s competition final. Three Mexican teams in Norceca Maeva’s semifinals 

MANZANILLO, Colima, October 2, 2010 - The highly expected semifinals of Norceca Maeva 2010 will have a great presence of Mexican teams. In men’s competition, Mexico 1 will run against Cuba and Canada 1 will battle against Puerto Rico. In women’s competition, two Aztec teams will contest against each other on the semifinals with Mexico 1 versus Mexico 2, while Puerto Rico squares off against Cuba.  More Español

USA and Cuba among the twelve finalists in Italia 2010 

Rome, Italy, October 3, 2010 – Teams of USA and Cuba, representing NORCECA Confederation at the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship, are still in competition among the top twelve finalists.

The Americans compete in Pool O in Rome against France and hosts Italy while the Cubans are part of Pool Q in Florence where they will battle against the sides of Bulgaria and Spain. In Pool R, also in the Italian capital, will clash the teams of Czech Republic, Germany and Brazil and the squads of Serbia, Argentina and Russia will square off in Pool P in Florence. More
