Suriname’s Keven Sporkslede takes MVP Award  

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, October 7, 2012.-  Keven Sporkslede was named the Most Valuable Player at the NORCECA-E First Round Tournament of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship held at the Sports Centre of Clifton Hunter High School in Cayman Islands. Sporkslede also was awarded as Best Scorer and teammates Dion Brunings and Raoul Bell were the Best Setter and Best Libero respectively.  More  Español

Suriname wins the Gold in WCH at Cayman Islands

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, October 7, 2012.- Suriname won the Gold Medal at the NORCECA-E First Round Tournament of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship defeating Barbados in the final match in five challenging sets (25-22, 18-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-12). Suriname had in Verny Vilet Antoine its best scorer with 16 points consisting in 14 attacks. More  Español

Barbados still undefeated

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, October 7, 2012 – Barbados trounced hosts Cayman Islands in straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-20) to finish undefeated in the preliminary phase of the NORCECA-E First Round Tournament of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship. The Bajans registered a 3-0 win-loss record and will meet Suriname on Sunday night for the first place of the event. Aruba and Cayman Islands will battle for the third place. More  Español

Aruba claims first win in five sets

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, October 6, 2012. - Aruba overcame Cayman Islands by score of 3-2 (25-17, 17-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-10) to claim their first win at the NORCECA-E First Round Tournament of 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship. The game had its difficulties as both squads were anxious to claim their first victory in the tournament. Aruba demanded their maximum effort to win the last match of the day. The winners were better in service points (7-4) but trailed (13-17) in the blocking category.  More  Español

Barbados remains undefeated

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, October 6, 2012. -  Barbados won 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19) over Suriname to remain undefeated at the NORCECA Qualification First Round Group E of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship. Barbados has a 2-0 win-loss record while Suriname sits now at 1-1. A thrilling match with a very tight score in which the sets were similar, even though Barbados took the first set. More  Español

Barbados starts with victory over Aruba

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, October 6, 2012.- Barbados started the NORCECA Group E Men’s 2014 FIVB World Championship with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-14) victory over Aruba. Barbados performed firmly as expected. Shawn Simpson produced 15 points for the winners, while Aruba was led by Fransua Angela with 8 points. Barbados made the difference with a 10-3 margin in aces. NORCECA WCHs qualifiers continue in Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, October 3, 2012 – The FIVB Men’s World Championship Qualification Tournament First Round NORCECA Group E will take place in October 6-7 with the participation of teams from Aruba, Barbados, Suriname and hosts Cayman Islands. The top three teams in the standings will secure spots for next year’s the second stage of tournaments.
