Hughes and Carico take women’s gold in Boquerón

BOQUERON, Puerto Rico, September 22, 2013 – Sara Hughes and Lane Carico of United States-A won the women’s gold medal of the Porta del Sol Beach Volleyball Tournament at Boqueron, the seventh leg of the 2013 NORCECA Circuit. Hughes and Carico scored a 21-10, 21-18 victory over Kacie MacTavish and Caleigh Whitaker of Canada-A, winners in Guatemala this year. was the second consecutive podium for Carico, who teamed up with Heather Hughes to win the bronze medal in Mazatlán. Three in a row for Mexicans Ontiveros and Virgen

BOQUERON, Puerto Rico, September 22, 2013- The Mexican duo of Lombardo Ontiveros and Juan Virgen continues to ´pile up victories in the NORCECA Circuit as they captured the Porta del Sol Beach Volleyball Tournament at Boqueron, on Sunday afternoon. Ontiveros-Virgen outplayed Puerto Ricans Roberto Rodriguez and Héctor Soto 15-21, 21-17, 15-9 claiming their third title in a row and fifth of the year. Twelve countries represented in Boquerón, Puerto Rico

BOQUERON, Puerto Rico, September 19, 2013 – Players of both genders from twelve countries will take part in the Porta del Sol Boqueron Beach Volleyball Tournament, the seventh leg of the 2013 NORCECA Circuit. Players come from Aruba, Canada, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, United States and hosts Puerto Rico. NORCECA Circuit back in Boquerón, Puerto Rico

BOQUERON, Puerto Rico, September 17, 2013 – Beach Volleyball returns to the western area of Puerto Rico with the Porta del Sol Beach Volleyball Tournament at Boqueron, the seventh stage of the 2013 NORCECA Circuit from September 20-22. The details of the competition were announced by Nelson Perez Cruz, president of the Puerto Rican National Volleyball Federation held at Parador Boquemar in Boqueron. The matches will be played at the Central American and Caribbean Stadium, the same site where the championship of the 2010 Mayaguez Games took place. Twelve selected matches of the event, including those for the medals, will be exclusively telecasted via DirectTV, channel 161. “Once again DirectTV is supporting the local sport this time on the occasion of the NORCECA Beach Porta del Sol,” said Belkys Mata, executive director of sales and marketing.  More  Español
