TIJUANA, Mexico, July 11 2013 - After the arrival of International Instructor, Francisco Hervas and NORCECA Supervisor, Lisandra Ramirez, the preparation details for the International Seminar for Middle Blockers have been completed.

The seminar starts on Friday at the Baja California High Performance Center with the participants from from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, U.S. Virgin Islands, Saint Eustatius, Saint Kitts and Nevis and British Virgin Islands.

“This seminar is directed to those who have a solid base and knowledge about volleyball, but we also want to share this opportunity with those who are still beginning to get familiar,” said Hervas during a previous meeting held at the High Performance Center.

“The course has a theoretical and also a practical phase, we have some talks and presentations,” he added.

Some subjects like the work on attack, block, counterattack and studies about the middle blocker position are among the most important points to be covered.

Along with them there is the analysis of the position itself. “It is a short course but will give the opportunity to work in different groups that will be divided, and will have the chance to follow a video session.”

Along with Hervas and Ramirez, FIVB Finance Commission Member and Norceca Finance Commission President, Alberto Arreola, also attended to the previous meeting as well as Mexican Volleyball and Beach Volleyball referee Vanessa Barriba and Mexican Youth and Junior Women’s National Teams physical therapist Omar Hernandez.
