nailed 28 points to lead the comfortable 3-0
(25-18, 25-12, 25-20) victory of Serbia over
Dominican Republic to open the actions in Pool A
of the women’s volleyball tournament at the
Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Saturday.
The Serbian strong serves combined with a faulty
reception by the Dominicans translated into a
15-5 difference in the blocking category. Milena
Rasic led the reigning world champions with 6
blocks among her total of 10 points.
Jineiry Martinez was the top offensive player
for the Dominican side with 8 points, including
three blocks.
The Serbians led in attacks 42-26 and in service
winners 4-0 while giving away 19 points via
unforced errors. |
